English Language Arts:
California Treasures meets the specific literacy needs of all California's teachers and students. The program content is aligned to national and state standards. It is customized to both California's language arts content and English language development standards and needs to meet California standards.
The curriculum, created specifically for California, is grounded in science-based research as well as in the wisdom and expertise of those recognized as most knowledgeable in teaching reading, writing, and communicating. Reading selections are culturally sensitive, engaging, and designed for all English students, on level, approaching, and beyond.
- Motivating student books with new, award-winning and culturally diverse literature. Students talk about, read about, and write about engaging themes on their way to becoming lifelong learners.
- Front-loaded for success on state tests with tested standards taught and systematically reviewed RIGHT in the student book. Students retain skills and teachers never have to stop teaching to prepare for the test.
- Research-based writing instruction. Proven writing instruction has shown improved test scores in both writing and reading comprehension, with the largest gain for English language earners.
